From Prompt to Production: AI Vibe Coding Web Frontends by Chaining Google’s Stitch, AI Studio, and Antigravity
I recently sat down to finally try out hands-on for myself just exactly how easy it is in February 2026 to have an AI generate a well designed full-fledged working HTML/CSS/JS front-end UI.
The Design Phase: Stitch
Starting with Google’s Stitch, I iterated on a few high-level graphical design ideas.
This feels similar to what you would have done with your human graphical designer, using tools like Figma, back in the pre-AI era.
Adding the Brains: AI Studio
Then I exported from Stitch into Google AI Studio Apps Build, clicking just 1 button. That allowed me to augment the HTML/Tailwind with required JavaScript logic of a full project to add the full frontend interactivity that’s missing in Stitch. Iterating on it in Studio with incremental prompts felt very natural, and super productive.
The Vibe Coding Phase: Antigravity
Lastly, I simply downloaded that project from Studio as a ZIP, to manually (one time) throw it into a regular GitHub repo, and maintain it there going forward.
I’ve then locally used Google Antigravity to further iterate on it. Its builtin Browser Tool lets the Gemini Model “see” the website, and you can leave comments on the visual artifacts to provide specific targeted feedback to the AI Agent.
Conclusion
I have to admit that I was completely blown away by the end-result. This is incredible.
Maybe I should make a YouTube video about this process?
PS: Alternatives
This is the process that I landed on which worked for me. I’m aware of other tools in this space:
Lovable.dev is often mentioned in this context, but it was more “full stack” than I was looking for, generating a surprisingly huge project with many files - but YMMV, of course.
Google Firebase Studio, formerly known as Project IDX, appears to be targeting the Lovable-like “full stack” space. I have not tried Firebase Studio yet - but depending on your needs, perhaps you would like to? As noted here, Google Firebase Studio will sunset on March 22, 2027 and merge into Google AI Studio.
Google Cloud Vertex AI Studio is an “Enterprise” UI in the GCP console that seems equivalent to the more “Consumer” oriented Google AI Studio.
